North Las Vegas is the industrial and logistics engine of the metro, anchored by the Apex Industrial Park and a fast-growing belt of Amazon and other warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing operations, plus the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Warehouse and construction-site security lead demand — site guards, gate and dock access control, overnight yard and perimeter patrol, and cargo-theft prevention — while a rapidly expanding residential base adds HOA and mobile patrol. Its industrial footprint and active development pipeline make it a distinct, logistics-driven market within the valley.
The providers below are ranked on merit, but the final check is yours. Work through these four steps before you sign anything in North Las Vegas:
Private security in Nevada is licensed at the state level by the State of Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board. A legitimate company operating in North Las Vegas holds a Private Patrol Officer licence — the business-level licence for a company furnishing watchmen, guards, patrol officers or bodyguards to others, which means it has cleared Nevada PILB's ownership, background-check and insurance requirements. Ask for that license number in writing and verify it yourself — a certificate on the wall tells you nothing about current standing, since a license can be suspended or revoked.
Hiring an unlicensed company is a risk you carry. In Nevada, operating without a license is misdemeanor; gross misdemeanor on repeat (NRS 648.210; NRS 648.220). A person who violates any of NRS 648.060 to 648.203, inclusive, is guilty of a misdemeanor for the first violation and a gross misdemeanor for the second and subsequent violations. Separately, under NRS 648.220 the Board may seek an injunction without proof of actual damage, and the court may impose a civil penalty of up to $10,000 for a violation of the licence-required section. An injunction does not preclude criminal prosecution.
North Las Vegas scores 69/100 on our Crime Index (grade C), which makes it safer than 43% of the 759 US cities we track. The index is built from FBI Crime Data Explorer reports for a population of 302,881.
